Hello, I’m JMatt93, for just over 6 months now I’ve been a performer on CAM4.
It’s hard to believe it’s been quite so long but I look back on some of my earliest broadcasts and cringe! [slumped half naked on a couch in my parents freezing cold living room while the rest of my family had all gone to bed, hoping I wouldn’t get caught, and hoping too that someone out there with more money than sense might throw me a tip or two for, y’know, essentially just existing]
Lights, HD webcams and angles meant very little to me at the time, and without a high end broadband provider my live stream was constantly pixelated, choppy and would often spontaneously go down on me.
Looking back at my earnings from this initial period, it’s hard to believe anyone would offer any tokens at all in exchange for my services, if you could call ’em that. I didn’t even own a dildo believe it or not, so when requests for anal play started to come in, I would improvise with condom covered carrots and cucumbers [DO NOT ADVISE!]. The first time someone invited me to go private [much to my glee, here’s your chance to show ’em what your made of Jmatt, I thought!] the whole thing was over in less than a minute and a half. Either he really enjoyed himself, or the fact I didn’t know what the fuck I was doing was wholly transparent. For the sake of my ego I’ll opt for the former.
One of my fonder memories from those first few months on Cam4 was the first time I hit my goal. It was only for something like 250 tokens but I had quite a few guys interacting with me and throwing down tips. My highest tipper requested that if I were to hit my goal, it would be on the condition that I do a stip tease/dance to the song ‘It’s my birthday’ by Will.I.Am/Cody Wise. How could I say no to that? :]
After a brief mo
nth long period of stealth broadcasting in my bedroom [in some ways less ideal than the family living room due to the lack of space] I managed to move into my own little space, with a room I affectionally dubbed ‘the cam room’ Â
I decided that if I was going to take this a little more seriously I needed to stock up on supplies. Lamp lights, a full HD webcam, toys and outfits came first.
Baby oil [I go through bottles and bottles of it believe me!], poppers and viagra I consider my essentials and am constantly restocking up on [as well, of course and an endless supply of cigarettes *cough* *splutter*]
Of course I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t strayed from Cam4 from time to time to see what the competition were offering, and there was a time I was doing more private shows on Skype than broadcasts on Cam4.
But [and I’m not being paid to say this!] the support team at Cam4 is second to none. Any of my doubts or queries have always been settled in no time at all and I’ve never once had any issue with receiving payment from them. There’s been times that personal problems have cropped up in my day to day life and I haven’t been able to broadcast for days, sometimes weeks at a time, despite my best promises to, but I never once felt under any pressure to do so from them and the team have been nothing but supportive throughout my ups and downs. I really do feel like the team at Cam4 care about their performers and have their best interests at heart, something I haven’t encountered on quite the same level on other rival camsites.
Another thing that keeps me coming back for more is the dedicated fanbase I’ve accumulated, and the wonderful sense of community! It’s great to see the same old faces popping up as you go Live, cheering you on and willing for you to do well; and some of these people have grown to become real life friends instead of just faces on a screen. I’ve probably met up with about 5 or 6 different guys who initiated contact with me via Cam4 away from the internet, and all in all it’s been a hugely pleasurable experience.
In my time on Cam4, I’ve teamed up with a handful of other broadcasters and put on performances alongside them, but truth be told I actually generally prefer broadcasting solo. Maybe I’m a control freak or just terrible at managing requests when I’ve had a few to drink, but alone in my cam room is definitely where I feel most at home. Still, I can’t deny the duo/group broadcasts raked in the viewer count numbers like never before and together we’ve earned ourselves a tidy little profit on more than one occasion :]Â
My advice to anyone with an exhibitionist streak interested in getting involved with broadcasting on Cam4 is – just do it! You never know where it might take you, and you sure as hell don’t need access to all the fancy gear and props to begin with. These are things you can accumulate over time if you so desire, and sometimes not even neccesary; trust me, a little imagination can go a long way!
I have no idea where I’ll be 6 months from now but I know I’ve come a long way from my early Cam4 days and it’s such a thrill to be able to earn money [and make what I hope will be life long friends] from doing something I enjoy so much.
